Papua New Guinea is in the third stage of the demographic transition model. Papua New Guinea is slowly developing with its decrease of its birth rate and death rate. Its natural increase is rapidly increasing and its fertility rate has decreased by about 10-25%. This is thanks to the change of its standard of living and the fact that women can now receive an education and an jobs. This will lead to lower birth rates because women can no longer take care of the family like they they used to.
