Cuba is in the third stage of the demographic transition model. They are in the third stage because although they have a slight population decrease, they are still considered to have an increasing population. They do have a fall in birth rates due to better family planning and better healthcare. Cuba is one step away from becoming like the countries of Western Europe and the United States.
